Killed as a driver of a carrier (Signal platoon) during Operation 'Alan' in the vicinity of the hamlet Heike - Helzenhoek in Nuland. Together with nine comrades of the same platoon temporarily buried in field graves in Nuland on the corner of Heiweg - Dorpsstraat. Reburied at the British War Cemetery Uden on 30 July 1946.
