Killed in action of stomach wounds in the flour-mill near the Dieze river on 24-10-1944.
L. Cpl. Hale cut through the connecting-wires of the German dynamite-bursting charge of the Dieze bridge during the assault on this bridge in the day-break.
Temporarily buried at the Oude Kerkstraat in Oss near the water-mill. Reburied in the summer of 1946 at the British War Cemetery Uden.
