During operation 'Alan' on 22-10-1944 seriously injured between Nuland and Rosmalen. Died of these injuries in a military hospital in the General de Bonskazerne in Grave and buried in a field grave opposite these barracks.
He was a mining engineer by profession, came from a family with four daughters and was married in January 1944.
Reburied by the 55th Graves Concentration Unit of the British army on 27-5-1946 at the British War Cemetery Uden.
