Biography

Trooper Gill was born in England but migrated with his family to Canada when he was young. He enlisted on October 21, 1942 at Kingston, Ontario, and served with the 27th Armoured Regiment (Sherbrooke Fusiliers Regiment). Gill landed on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day, but was captured and summarily executed by Waffen-SS soldiers.
