Reserve Medical Officer Second Class Petrus van Noord distinguished himself through courageous conduct against the enemy, by fearlessly treating wounded soldiers even in the front line, under enemy fire during the battle against landed paratroopers on the island of Dordrecht on May 10 and 11, 1940, at constant risk of death.
