    "Brigadier Wedd was the principal Civil Staff Officer at Headquarters First Canadian Amry throughout the campaign in Northwest Europe and consequently had manifold responsabilities connected with the administration of liberated territories. These responsabilities he carried out most efficiently with the result that the troops were never impeded during operations by difficulties with the civilian population. In The Netherlands in particular, under the capable and imaginative leaderhip of this officer the relations between the military and civilian authorities were most harmonious and all possible steps were taken to assist in the speedy restoration of order in liberated Holland."
