“Hauptmann Wissemann served as the main impetus behind a friendly attack between the Don and Volga rivers, and by doing so he decisively contributed to the destruction of an enemy brigade. A few days later this outstandingly distinguished Kompanie commander died a hero’s death while conducting reconnaissance.”
