"Major Seitz, Stab II./Gebirgs-Jäger-Regiment 99, has in the time period 05.06.1940-06.06.1940 crossed the Oise-Aisne Canal, captured a bridgehead near Pommiers and conquered the St. Amand-Ferme. Through these actions (and in spite of heavy losses to his battalion as well as becoming personally wounded himself) he has by his unstoppable attacking spirit stormed the cornerstone of the enemy's defense and definitively broken through their positions, an act of decisive importance beyond the level of both his battalion and regiment."
