On the 26.05.1944 the 4./Panzer-Regiment 4 commanded by Hauptmann Eck achieved an outstanding tactical victory in the area Melfa-Roccasacca-Arce (along the so-called Senger line). On this day the Kompanie destroyed 28 enemy tanks, and in doing so they slowed down the Allies’ forward advance considerably.
