    During World War 2, Flip van der Wolf served as observer with 320 Squadron. After the war,he pursued a career in the Air Force ultimately becoming Commander of Soesterberg Air Base, from 1970 to 1973 he was Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Dutch Air Force
