Born on 23rd September 1924 Chicago, Illinois. Service Number 36741020
Died in his tank "USA 3089877" -named "Florence"- in the facinity of Meijel, the Netherlands on 27th October 1944 as gunner by a granade hit. Was son of Arthur M. Hegnes and N.N. Dagny. Of the tankcrew only Sergeant Lewis M. Booth, Tank Commander survived. The other crew members, Sgt Lawrence Lasardia, Driver; Ass. Driver Jerry Malken, Gunner Pfc James Hegnes all were killed.
