Biography

Leroy Schreiber came from Massachusetts.
During an attack on an airfield near Flensburg, Germany, he was probably hit by anti-aircraft munition. After his P-47D 43-25577 pulled up from a dive-attack, smoke was seen coming out of it. Shortly after that the plane crashed. Research showed it crashed near Büschau, 2 km south of Eggebek, 15 km northwest of Flensburg.
After being buried elsewhere, his body was after the war reburied on the burial site near Luik, Belgian Ardennes. Her he lies in Plot C-1-45.
