The President of the United States takes pride in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross (Posthumously) to William F. Boice (0-226890), Captain (Infantry), U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while commanding a Battalion of the 126th Infantry Regiment, 32d Infantry Division, in action against enemy forces on 19 December 1942, in during the Papuan Campaign near Buna, New Guinea.
