Biography

Carel Well Groeneveld was taken in the Koninklijke Indische Marine (Royal Dutch-Indies Navy) as Adelborst for Naval duties. He was promoted to Luitenant ter Zee der derde klasse on 1st September 1927, with effective date of 16th August 1927. His promotion to Luitenant ter Zee der eerste klasse followed on 11th February 1939. He was reported missing on 4th March 1942. He probably died during the destruction of the Torpedo-works at Surabaja.
