Corporal Leon T. Golt (Army Serial Number 33201279), Infantry, Company "A", 31st Tank Battalion, United States Army, for distinguishing himself by meritorious service in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States on 1 September 1944, in the area of Thierville-sur-Meuse, France. As a result of an enemy aerial bombing assault a number of his crew sustained serious wounds. Refusing to take cover, he remained with his wounded comrades and administered first aid, thereby saving them from almost certain death. His altruism and devotion to his fallen comrades reflects great credit upon himself and the Armed Forces.
