Biography

Clifford Palmer Herring was married to Helen Gaulding Herring. His remains were buried on June 12th, 1944 at St. Laurent, Normandy, France, Plot B, Row 3, Grave 54. Later his remains were transferred to the United States andinterred at the Marietta National Cemetery, Marietta, Georgia, Plot G, Grave 8319-C.

His relatives also received the ribbon bar with bronze star, for the Presidential Unit Citation which was awarded tot Navy Combat Demolition Unit of Force "O".
