    Pilot Officer
    Unit:
No 69 Squadron, Royal Air Force
    Awarded on:
    February 25th, 1947
    Citation:
"Pilot Officer Bennett has completed a considerable number of highly successful low level night reconnaissance sorties, often in the face of intense enemy fire.
At one time he completed four sorties in four nights and on each occasion his aircraft was hit by anti-aircraft fire. Although he had to complete his reconnaissances at a very low level, he brought back valuable information.
Pilot Officer Bennett's unfailing courage and devotion to duty have set a fine example to the whole squadron."
