He has distinguished himself by courageous conduct in the face of the enemy having escorted under extremely hazardous conditions 45 convoys on the road to Garoet – Tasikmalaja and back in the period between August 30th, 1947 up to and including February 2nd, 1948. Of these convoys, 33 came under enemy fire, in addition, 30 roadblocks had to be cleared and 10 aerial bombs and mines were located of which six exploded.
