He has distinguished himself against the enemy by acting as a coworker of an important military intelligencegroup in occupied Holland. In this capacity he has gathered and forwarded a large amount of valuable, highly accurate and minutely processed information of a wide variety, pertaining to enemy actions, deployments, marine traffic, airfields and such on the island of Walcheren and in particular the port of Vlissingen, until the time of his arrest in June 1942 after he was deported to a concentration camp where he passed away during the winter of 1943/44. By his actions he rendered important services to the Allied wareffort and the government of the Netherlands.
