"Comrade Voronkov crossed under strong enemy fire the river Dnepr in the Dnipropetrovks region and with his gun fire ensured the advancement of our infantry. In the period of 1.10.1943 to 14.10.1943, I. Voronkov participated in the repulsing of six enemy tank assaults and destroyed 2 heavy and 2 medium tanks, 2 armored vehicles, burned 6 other vehicles and destroyed up to a platoon of enemy manpower. On 14 October 1943, as a result of a fierce tank attack by the enemy, I. Voronkov died a heroic death with his gun.
