"Comrade Marikov was one of the first to cross the right bank of the Dnieper river to the Bukryn bridgehead. Commanding a group of tanks, he cut off the all ways along the river to escape for the enemy, thus contributing to the succesful advancements of our units.

He cleverly organized the crossing of the tanks near the village of Grigorovka. In the ensuing battle on 13 October 1943, he destroyed 3 guns, 3 machine guns and up to 50 facists with precise fire."
