Biography

On 27th December 1941, soviet troops belonging to the 2nd Battalion of the 83rd Naval Infantry Brigade spotted the III./ Inf.Rgt. 97 led by Hauptmann Karl Bock near the soviet beachhead at Cape ZYUK and launched a spoiling attack as it was deploying with several naval infantry companies supported by three T-26 tanks.A panzerjäger platoon from 14./ IR 97 was then able to deploy a 3,7cm Pak and Obergefreiter Max Freyberger fired 42 rounds into the attacking soviet T-26, knocking all 3 tanks out.
