“Major der Landwehr Kimmich and his Grenadier-Bataillon stormed a strongly fortified and heavily defended enemy hill. Those determined Bolshevik counterattacks that followed were crushed in the face of the inspiring leadership of the commander and the bravery of his Grenadiers. This action took place in the central section of the Eastern front at the end of this past September.”
