    He has distinguished himself by exceptionally courageous and tactful deeds in early 1941, by having joined an importance resistance group which also passed on military intelligence in the Netherlands, acting as commander of this group and later on as commander of an important district of this group; in addition for having managed by his perseverance to restore the organization of this group which had suffered heavily from numerous arrests and for having maintained contact with other underground organizations.
    Furthermore, when he knew that the enemy was after him, forcing him into hiding, for not having decreased his activities and despite the constant danger, having maintained numerous contacts until his arrest in mid-September 1944 and his subsequent execution.
