    Biography

    Johan Willem Storm van Leeuwen lived at Tarakan and served as 1e Luitenant with the KNIL. He was professional military and artillery commander. Together with 214 Dutch citizens he was executed at Tarakan by the Japanese on 18/19 January 1942 as a repraisal for sinking two Japanes minesweepers.
