"This officer has been continuously engaged on operational flying duties since April 1942, flying on sorties over the North Assam, Arakan and Imphal fronts. At all times he has displayed a fine fighting spirit and has participated in many air combats. Flight lieutenant Lee has completed bombing and low level sorties over extremely difficult terrain and throughout monsoon weather, conditions which have called for extreme skill and courage. He has destroyed at least one enemy aircraft and damaged others and has also inflicted much damage on the enemy's ground forces and communications."
