“Feldwebel Franz Juschkat… received the Knight’s Cross on the 17.02.1943 as a Zugführer in a Grenadier-Regiment. He received this award for his actions during the defense against Bolshevik attacks south of Lake Ladoga. Here he launched a counterattack on his own initiative that succeeded in throwing back enemy forces that had penetrated into the neighbouring sector.”
