Son of Francis M. Scott and Mildred B. Scott. Served in 575th Ambulance Company, 341st Medical Group as private first class. He was one of the victims of the Malmedy Massacre during the Ardennes Offensive. At this massacre on 17 December 1944, more than 100 captured US soldiers were machine-gunned by German SS érs of the 1st Panzer Division at the Baugnez crossroads outside Malmedy, Belgium. Some managed to escape but 84 men including Francis Scott were killed in the process.
Francis Scott is buried in the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery in Belgium.
