"Lieutenant Colonel (then Major) F.O.A.G. Bennett, 90745, RB, while a member of the armed forces of the British Empire, distinguished himself by meritorious service in connection with military operations against an enemy during the period 25 May 1944 and 1 September 1944. Lieutenant Colonel Bennett's foresight, tact, judgement and thorough knowledge of his subject in the organization of the liaison between G-2, Supreme Headquarters, Allied Expeditionary Force and the Allied Expeditionary Air Force and in the subsequent conduct of this liaison in such a manner as to establish the highest degree of confidence between the two Headquarters produced results which refled great credit upon himself and Supreme Headquarters, Allied Expeditionary Force and contributed materially to the progress of the successful campaign."
