Stalag XII A Limburg/Lahn was a durchgangslager (Dulag) or transit camp for the whole Western Front and not just for men captured at Arnhem. Stalag XII A registered able-bodied NCOs and Other Ranks: officers passed through the camp before transfer to the officers' Dulag/Stalag XII B at Hadamar, 5 kilometers to the west. Most Arnhem prisoners of war passed through this camp between the end of September and the end of October 1944.
