Pfc Richard Lampman led an assault on a Japanese position in the Battery B (Boston) area on Corregidor. Under fire he advance firing his BAR from the hip and took the position killing seven Japanese marines. For this action he was recommended for a Silver Star Medal. His recommendation did not make it through.
