Biography
Havey and Signalman First Class Frank H. Bigelow defended the beach area, manning a twin .50-caliber machine gun. Havey was hit and tried to reach Malinta Tunnel while Bigelow remained at his post. Havey was killed by seven machine gun bullets across the chest moments later.
