December 8, 1941: Following general mobilisation posted to the Military Aviation KNIL (Royal Dutch-East Indies Army),
March 1, 1942: promoted to military vaandrig (Ensign) Military Aviation KNIL
March 8, 1942 – August 15, 1945: Interned as a Prisoner-of-war by the Japanese.
December 1, 1946: sent on extended leave.
July 25, 1950: honorable discharge from the KNIL
