Citation:
"Sergeant J. SHARP was landed by parachute behind the enemy lines in Dec 44. He was the wireless operator in the party commanded by Major T.A. CAREW.
He established W/T communication with H.Q. very promptly after landing, and throughout the period of operations efficiently maintained and operated his W/T Station, enabling the flow of information which provided to be such value to XV Corps and the R.A.F. to be passed accurately and without delay.
The Enemy were aware of the presence of this party and it says a great deal for Sgt. SHARP's coolness and courage that, with nothing between him and the enemy he kept wireless touch throughout the operation, this largely contributing to its success.

He is recommeneded for the periodical award of the Military Medal."
