"Flight Lieutenant Reeves has a long record of operational flying. He served in Malta during the intensive period of fighting between 1941-1942 and later in the Middle East theatre of war. More recently he has flown on operations over France and Belgium. At all times he has led his flight with coolness, courage and devotion to duty. This officer has invariably displayed a fine fighting spirit and has destroyed or damaged much of the enemy's mechanical transport and many heavily defended positions."

"Since the award of the Distinguished Flying Cross, Squadron Leader Reeves has taken part in numerous bombing and low level attacks, armed reconnaissances, patrol and escort duties and has inflicted considerable damage on the enemy’s rail communications. His bombing missions have been varied and have included close support of the army, and attacks against enemy headquarters, strong points and bridges. Many of his close support sorties were flown during the period which preceded the crossing of the River Rhine. A courageous fighter pilot and an excellent leader, this officer has never let either adverse weather of enemy opposition deter him from completing his mission."
