CSA Brigadier General Stephen D. Ramseur's Brigade Monument

This memorial at the Mule Shoe Salient in the Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park commemorates the CSA Brigadier General Stephen D. Ramseur's Brigade, involved in the Battle of Spotsylvania. General Ramseur was wounded and the brigade may have suffered over 50% losses in the fighting.
The Battle of Spotsylvania Court House took place between 8 and 21 May 1864.
After a battle of 14 days and with the losses of in total over 4000 dead, 20,000 wounded and 8000 captured/missing, the battle was tactically inconclusive.
