Battlefield Marker Spring Hill

This marker lies along the present day Kedron Road. During the Battle of Spring Hill, the road was called Rally Hill Pike.
The Battle of Spring Hill, on 29 November 1864, was a Confederate attack to prevent the Union troops to achieve Franklin. In the night of 29 to 30 november, the Union troops managed to escape so they were able the strengthen the Union defense line for the Second Battle of Franklin, the following day.
