Battery Wansboro

Battery Wansboro was a part of Fort Flagler, which was part of the harbor defense of Puget Sound and was built from 1903 to 1905. The battery was operational until 1946. It was equipped with two 3" guns. During the Second World War, the fort was a training center for amphibious operations and army engineers. It also guarded the anti-submarine net in Puget Sound.

Nowadays the battery is part of Fort Flagler State Park and can be visited. It contains two 3" guns of the original type.
