IN THESE PREMISES AT RIJNSTRAAT 75A JAN VAN ELK GAVE SHELTER TO
JEWISH PEOPLE IN HIDING
FROM 8 MARCH 1943 TILL 25 AUGUST 1943.

BECAUSE OF TREACHERY THE PEOPLE IN HIDING AND RESISTANCE PEOPLE
WERE ARRESTED DURING A RAID ON 25 AUGUST 1943.

AFTER HIS ARREST JAN VAN ELK DIED IN GERMAN IMPRISONMENT
IN DACHAU ON 27 FEBRUARY 1945.
