The Regelbau 502 bunker in Scheveningen is a German defensive structure from the Second World War, designed to house twenty soldiers. This bunker was part of the Atlantic Wall, an extensive defensive line along the Western European coast, and was specifically part of Stützpunkt XXXXI H.
Characteristics of the Regelbau 502
The Regelbau 502, also called "Doppelgruppenunterstand", was a standard design for a personnel bunker. The design included two separate living areas, each intended for a group of soldiers, separated by a thick concrete wall. The bunker was equipped with gas-tight doors, a gas lock and storage spaces. The walls and roof were approximately two meters thick, which provided protection against artillery shelling and air raids.
