Gaugefechtsstand Wien

This large underground bunker complex was built between 1940 and 1945 to provide strategic air raid warning and air defence coordination for Vienna (which was defended by three Flak towers). The tunnel system had a total length of 340 meters. Next to the communication facilities and command center, there were also the personal facilities of Gauleiter Baldur von Schirach. The Gaugefechtsstand Wien was evacuated and its entrances were destroyed by explosives, on April 4, 1945.

The complex today:
There is not much left of the Gaugefechtsstand on the surface and it can't be accessed.
