Dutch War Grave Rouveen

Next to the church is the grave of Klaas Pielman.

According to the War Graves Foundation and the Honor Roll of Fallen 1940-1945, he was part of the resistance. On October 11, 1944, Pielman cycled on the Sluitersweg. When he reached the intersection with the motorway, a German soldier summoned him to give up his bicycle. He refused, so the German shot him.
