Memorial Rush-Bagot Treaty

This memorial commemorates the Rush–Bagot Treaty, signed in 1817 by the U.S. and United Kingdom (on Canada's behalf), which resulted in the demilitarization of the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain in the aftermath of the War of 1812. The treaty was negotiated in the Maynard Mansion, once located at this site.
