Belgian War Graves Evergem

The cemetery of Evergem contains Belgian burials of the Second World War. These are the graves of DE PAUW Albert, fallen at Willebroek on 17 May 1940 and DE WITTE Jozef, fallen at Kluizen on 24 May 1940.

The cemetery also contains the grave of Gilbert Braeckman, resistance fighter, who was executed here by the Germans on 7 September 1944.
