Gate of Poppies Welberg
The viaduct has been upgraded at the initiative of the Welberg Village Council, so that it forms a connection with the Liberation Monument on the Canadezenweg in Welberg.
The Liberation Monument remains the place to commemorate the fallen, while the viaduct is the place to celebrate freedom under a cheerful gate of poppies.
The poppy is an international symbol for Canadian and British soldiers who fell during both World Wars.
