In the Municipality of Gilze and Rijen is a memory route created in memory of the Second World War.
In a number of places there is a sign with a description of what happened at that place in the Second World War.


GERMAN BOMBER TYPE DO 217 CRASHES IN MOLENSCHOT

In the Broekstraat in Molenschot a drama took place on January 4, 1944 at 3.07 pm. A German Dornier 217 bomber crashed; the plane was shot by an English Typhoon fighter. The entire crew, four young Germans, were killed.
