Udet Boje
A life buoy designed by the German Luftwaffe General Udet for airmen who had to leave their aircraft above the sea. The buoy was equipped with a room with all the necessary means, including a radio to call for help. These buoys had a good design theoretically, but proved unsatisfactory in practice; the Allies used them as a target, and with some regularity they knocked loose to wash up on the coast.
