Fort Lunette I

Lunette I is a fort, build from 1822 to 1826 as part of the "Oude Hollandsche Waterlinie" (Old Dutch Waterline). It is one of the four lunettes on the east side of Utrecht.

In the 30s, the forts were partially expanded with casemates and group shelters. In 1914-1914 and 1939-1940 the forts were mobilized.

In Lunette I, a fallout shelter was built after the war. This is now a museum and sometimes open to the public.

The forts are not accessible.
