The C47 crashed on September 17 above Bladel, in an area now known as Bladels Bosch.
The C47 42-100801 was shot down by anti-aircraft aircraft above Bladel on September 17, 1944. The C47 crashed into a shed where 3 family members of the Spiethof family and the neighbor took shelter from the violence of war. These 4 people were killed.

The C47 crew consisted of Pilot 1st L.t Charles Gilmore - Co pilot 2nd Lt. Robert VH Thomas - CPL Guy Dilfalco and S / sgt William Golden.
