Memorial Siege of the Citadel of Antwerp 1832 Schoonselhof

The Siege of Antwerp took place between November 15 and December 23, 1832. During the Belgian uprising, the government army of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands held the three main southern citadels, including that of Antwerp.
The French troops took the citadel, where 4,500 Dutch soldiers had entrenched themselves with a large number of cannons, under fire with monster mortars for 24 days. On December 23, 1832, the garrison of the citadel of Antwerp offered the surrender, after an important defense work had fallen.
